A film director based in Sri Lanka​

Dulanka Devendra born in Sri Lanka started his career at the age of 19 as a Visual Effects Artist in the TV commercial industry. He became a Creative Director in 2018 and has directed many short films. His short film “Children of White” won the “Best Short Film” award at the Singapore South Asian Film Festival in 2018. It was also nominated for the “Best International Short Film Category” under official selection for the Monterrey International Film Festival 2018 held in Mexico.

The movie “Children of White” was locally recognized as well, winning the “Best Short Film” award at the Jaffna International Cinema Festival 2018 held in Sri Lanka. Acknowledging his creativity, Devendra was awarded “The Most Promising Director” award at the Agenda 14 Short Film Festival held in Sri Lanka. Devendra also attended the prestigious “Cannes Film Festival” in 2018. His sophisticated imagination blends well with technical and artistic skills and his keen eye for detail and style captures the beauty of every image in its entirety. Owing to his unique talents, Devendra was recognized as one of the best emerging artists in Sri Lanka in the year 2018, by the “Artra’, art and culture-based magazine in Sri Lanka.
